The five-year contract expands Systone’s work advancing secure, scalable, and future-ready digital services across CMS healthcare quality programs
Systone Iterations LLC, an SBA-certified 8(a) digital services company, is part of the team supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) Services Security, Innovation, and Operations (SIO) contract. The five-year, $101 million effort will strengthen the technology, security, and shared capabilities behind critical healthcare quality programs within the CMS Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ).
Systone will serve as a subcontractor to Goldman Edwards-Tantus Technologies, LLC, a joint venture between Tantus Technologies and Goldman Edwards. Through this partnership, Systone will bring its experience in cloud engineering, DevSecOps, product leadership, and digital modernization to an initiative focused on helping CMS teams work more securely, efficiently, and collaboratively.
“Leading the Shared Solutions and Enablement effort is an important responsibility for Systone and a reflection of the trust placed in our team and our ability to deliver,” said Stephen Ibitoye, CEO of Systone Iterations. “This work gives us the opportunity to help solve common challenges once and create capabilities that benefit teams across CCSQ. We look forward to working alongside CMS, Goldman Edwards-Tantus, and the broader SIO team to strengthen the engineering foundations that enable secure delivery and continued innovation across these critical healthcare programs.”
Impact
Curt Ecott, CTO of Systone Iterations, emphasized the importance of building on the program’s established foundation. “We are excited to continue supporting the Shared Solutions and Enablement work that has been instrumental to CCSQ’s success. Building on that foundation, we will continue to drive innovation and help CCSQ achieve its strategic goals.”
Systone’s work will center on supporting the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) Information Systems Group’s (ISG) technical innovation and providing services and enablement across the End-Stage Renal Disease Quality Reporting System (EQRS) and Quality Payment Program (QPP) portfolios.Rather than solving the same technical challenges one project at a time, the Shared Solutions & Enablement team helps CMS develop reusable tools, patterns, infrastructure, and guidance that can create value across multiple programs.
Details
ln support of CMS and CCSQ, Systone will:
Develop and promote reusable infrastructure components, technical patterns, and automation that reduce duplicated effort across delivery teams.
Provide embedded DevSecOps and site reliability engineering support to strengthen the security, reliability, and performance of cloud-based systems.
Help teams navigate infrastructure modernization, cloud migrations, security requirements, and authorization-to-operate continuity.
Develop proofs of concept and evaluate emerging technologies to support informed modernization decisions.
Improve cloud cost management through utilization analysis, workload right-sizing, and strategic use of AWS Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
Facilitate knowledge sharing across CMS teams through technical documentation, implementation guidance, code reviews, demonstrations, and communities of practice.
Spearhead innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning by building proof-of-concept solutions, identifying opportunities for improvement, and advancing emerging technology adoption across ISG.
Develop and promote reusable infrastructure components, architecture patterns, and engineering automation that standardize common solutions and reduce duplicated effort across delivery teams.
Provide DevSecOps and site reliability engineering expertise to strengthen system security, operational resilience, service reliability, and application performance across cloud-based environments.
Support infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives, helping teams adopt scalable architectures and align technical implementations with evolving security and compliance requirements.
Design proofs of concept and evaluate emerging technologies to assess technical feasibility, integration requirements, and potential value before broader adoption.
Improve cloud cost management through resource utilization analysis, workload optimization, capacity planning, and evaluation of cost-efficient cloud configurations.
Advance technical enablement across CMS teams through engineering documentation, implementation guidance, code reviews, technical demonstrations, and DevSecOps communities of practice.
Advance artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities by identifying viable use cases, developing prototype solutions, and supporting the responsible integration of emerging technologies across CCSQ.
Conclusion
This work reflects Systone’s belief that meaningful modernization is about more than introducing new technology. It requires building systems, practices, and partnerships that can grow with the mission. By strengthening the capabilities shared across CMS teams, Systone will help reduce duplicated effort, improve consistency, and give delivery teams a stronger foundation for continuous innovation. Systone also brings established experience supporting complex CMS programs where security, accessibility, reliability, and continuous improvement are essential. Its teams work within live government environments to modernize technology responsibly while helping agencies maintain the services people depend on today. Through the SIO contract, Systone will continue that work with Goldman Edwards-Tantus Technologies and its industry partners, helping CMS build a more connected, resilient, and future-ready digital ecosystem.
